Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer and as part of the design team your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Design and development of complete machine assemblies (including shafts, fasteners, couplings, bearing assemblies etc).
• Technical specifications of components.
• Checking for completeness of drawings prior to manufacture.
• Standardization of basic drawings to facilitate changes for on-site manufacturing.

• A minimum of one years’ experience in product / component design.
• Ability to plan and execute tasks to achieve timescales.
• Experience in 2D drafting using CAD software (conceptual/detail & assemblies).
• Understanding of detailed drawings and geometric tolerancing.
• The ability to communicate/support other areas of the business, i.e., Production, Manufacturing, Customer Support and Quality Control.
• Good standard of mathematical and numerical skills.
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• An Organised mind-set.
• Motivated and Proactive.
• Ability to communicate with peers.
• Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
• Ability to support problem solving with structured methodologies.
• Ability to work as part of a team whilst showing self-motivation and initiative.
• Flexible and adaptable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate via reports, emails and presentations.
• Be able to work and communicate within all areas of the organisation from shop floor to management.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines when required.

• Experience of 3D modelling software’s (SolidEdge and SolidWorks).
• Previous experience in a Mechanical Design Engineering environment.
• CAD experience.
• Component design experience.
• The ability to use the MS Office suite.
